摘要

This paper presents a new approach based on artificial neural networks(ANN) for solving daily optimal operation problem of cascaded hydropower plants(CHP) in power systems. It can be used not only for the daily generation scheduling , but also for the realtime control of cascaded hydropower plants. In order to speed up the convergence of ANN, a decomposition technique has been used by which the complicated networks are divided into several simple ones. Simulation calculation results show the application of ANN in this field is quite satisfactory.
