The main special features of oil fields in platform areas (for example Romashkinsky field) that make development, control and production management more complicated are large area, multilayer beds, large oil-water zones , high zonal and by layer heterogeneity of reservoirs and also implementation of center-to-edge- and edge water flooding. Success of rational development of oil fields depends firstly on scientific based system of field development, secondly on the continious control and regulating the process of oil field development taking into account new data on geological structure and alteration of oil saturation character obtained during drilling and production. Technological projects of oil field development are generated utilizing the data of explorational drilling and production tests of some wells. This is insufficient information about the field, it's sizes, volume of oil reserves and reservoir parameters. Therefore it is impossible to consider all the particularities of depletion rates, the process of water flooding, character of reduction of oil pool outlines, the value of recovery factor and number of other points. Timely modification of the currently used system of oil field development is possible only at continiuos scientifically based control of production process. Qualitative alteration of production control status ocurred after implementation of neutron methods of well tests and defining fluid flow using subsurface flowmeters. Implementation of these test methods provided insight into creation of new methods of recovery intensification and increase of recovery factor.
