Recent advances and challenges of power electronics for transmisson applications(Plenary session)

摘要

The global need for more energy supplies makes a shift necessary from fossil fuels to renewable sources. To transmit renewable energies from remote locations to the load centers HVDC is a very attractive solution. Recent progress of power electronics enabled low loss converters to take-the challenge of integrating more renewable energy sources. This plenary session focuses on the key technologies of HVDC.
