Primary energies, such as coal and natural gas are currently so expensive, that energy intensive industries are being forced to look into alternative fuels. There are now existing new methods, to supporting cement industry, by providing silos and hydrauli-cally driven piston pumps, to receive and supply alternative fuels to produce reasonable priced cement to all kind of construction works. Transportation of material: alternative fuels must have a proven high calorific value, to make a worthy replacement for primary energies. Fuels suited for this purpose are: 1. mechanically dewatered sewage sludge 2. tar 3. paint sludge 4. hazardous waste 5. all other similar materials, such as animal carcasses these fuels are placed in silos, either individually or mixed together. High density solid pumps (hydraulically driven) supply these secondary fuels, either on the cold side of the rotary kiln as efficient and energy supplier or, on the hot side, as fuel. The paper will indicate four different possibilities how to prepare the alternative fuels to an secondary fuel and how to feed it into the rotary kilns.
