摘要

This paper presents an experimental study on the behaviour of wrapped steel concrete exterior joints under the high axial compression ratio. Effects of key variables such as axial compression ratio, concrete compressive strength, as well as wrapped steel arrangement were studied in this research program. Experimental results show: wrapped steel can confined joints concrete and participate in resist joints shear force. Wrapped steel, which influence the column-to-beam strength ratio lead to seriously "weak column-strong beam". Compare to RC joints, the yielding strength and ultimate strength of joints increase obviously. But this joints ductile behaviour similar to RC joints under high axial compressive ratio. Based on the analyses, formula of shear capacity of joints is given. The accuracy of the proposed formula is in agreement with analytical and experimental data.
