On the Importance and Recent Problems of Building the Urban Greenbelt—Taking Beijing Area as Example

The urban greenbelt is the important means and measure to improve the urban ecological environment and urban image and to change the quality of residents' life. In recent years, the policy about greenbelt issued by some big cities such as Beijing is getting a very good implementation, and the achievement is remarkable. But the problem about the recent costs and benefits on developing the urban greenbelt has existed and the disputes also exist. The importance about building the greenbelt through the analysis with the urban greenbelt project is explained. Meanwhile some suggestions are given to solve the problems of interest bearing between the construction and management of the greenbelt.
