The influence of impulsive low frequency sounds on the rattling of windows was investigated by using experimental equipment which could generate low frequency sounds from 1 Hz to 50 Hz with sound pressure level over 150dB. Three impulsive low frequency sounds with simple wave shapes such as half-sine wave, triangular wave, and rectangular wave and a sonic boom were used as sound sources. We carried out experiments by changing the wave shape of each impulsive infrasound. Experimental results indicated that the rattling of windows strongly depended on the wave shape of impulsive low frequency sounds as well as the maximum sound pressure.
