摘要

Filter theories based on the single fiber approach predict pressure drop and collection efficiency for unloaded filters with sufficient accuracy. However, the process of particle loading is not yet quantitatively understood. To apply the single fiber approach to the ongoing loading process, the structure of the particle deposit on – and later on between – individual filter fibers and its influence of the resulting structure on drag and collection efficiency has to be known.
