A significant number of Lake COunty,IL residential subdivisiosn devleope dsince the early 1950's have experimence chronic flood damages due in part to their location in lood hazard areas.Since 1982,there have bene 3 federal and 2 state disaster declarations in Lake County due to flooding.The Lake County Stormwater management Commission (SMC) has performed a multi-phased project on one of these devleopments designed to minimize future flood damages.
