An analytical technique that integrates core-based rock mechanics with openhole geophysical logs has proven valuable for Chevron's worldwide drilling and completion operations, especially for HPHT wells, horizontal wells and openhole completions. The Rock Mechanics for drilling and productioin engineering applications that include: (1) Formation drillability assessment for bit optimization and performnace prediction (2) Wellbore stability for horizontal and extended reach wells (3) Sand production prediction for completion design (4) Formation stress profile and elastic properties for hydraulic stimulation design
