摘要

In summer 1997 a complex oceanographic experiment has been carried out in the fishery area of Norwegian sea open part. Before and during the experiment a few ERS-2 low and full resolution SAR scenes were acquired and analyzed. Several eddies attached to the Norwegian current frontal zone were detected from radar images. They were verified by in situ measurements from ship of vertical distribution of water temperature, salinity and fluorescence in the upper 50 m layer. In the area of cyclonic eddies periphery and anti-cyclonic eddies inner part an enlarged concentration of chlorophyll was detected.
