摘要

In this paper, the new technique has been put forward that a newly-developed 5 MHz Composite line focused shear wave probe for no upside-dead zone is used to detect small bars(shose diameters are from 3 to 25mm). At hte same time, this paper gives a detailed description to the principles, structures, functions and properties of the probe as well as its behaviours when it is used to detect the internal defects of bars with different diameters. The results of plenty of experiments show that this kind of probe is an ideal one when used to detect small bars.
