In order to suggest a new mixed oxide catalyst system for simultaneous removal of NOx and SOx from stationary sources, MoO_3-V_2O_5/TiO_2 catalysts were prepared by conventional impregnarion techniques with and without water solution of organo-metal compounds. Separately, the mixed ocoed gels of SiO_2-TiO_2-V_2O_5 are prepared by SOL-GEL method, which might give several benefits to use in practical S.C.R. process. The catalyst prepared by SOL-GEL method was found to be quite durabie in SO_2 poisoning. The percent conversion of simultaneous removal of NO and SO; on 60SiO_2-40TiO_2-4V_2O_5 catalyst were observed 52% and 98% respectively. For the catalyst coated on cordierite inonolith, optimum catalytic activity was shown at the sample coated repeatedly at 12 mimes by SOL-GEL process.
