Synthesis of Planar Bifocal Two Mirror, Lens and Mirror-Lens Beamforming Systems

New technique for the synthesis of planar bifocal two-mirror, as well as lens and mirror-lens beamforming systems for multi-beam antennas has been developed. The technique is based on setting one initial segment of the cylindrical surface of a lens or mirror, followed by finding the remaining segments. This initial segment is given in the form of a parabolic cylinder, and the initial segment of the second mirror or second surface of the lens is found from the fine focusing condition for the center position of the beam. Further, the technique of sequentially finding new segments of the bifocal system from the condition of accurate focusing is used when the source is located in two focuses symmetrically located relative to the axis of the system. This ensures the continuity of the functions describing the shape of the surfaces of the system at the junctions of the segments, as well as their first two derivatives. It is shown that the new technique can significantly reduce the value of the root-mean-square phase aberration
