This work describes the development of a battery management system for UPS. This system helps to know the status of battery backup hours in stationary and running mode using ATMEGA controller. Battery Management System (BMS) is provided with the analysis of State of Charging (SoC), Depth of Discharge (DoD), State of Health (SoH) and battery life. A 12V sealed valve regulated lead acid battery with the sensor is used to detect the battery current and voltage. ATMEGA328 is used to determine the period of charging and discharging time. The backup time (Amp hour) of the battery will be determined by calculating the average current and time. Node MCU (ESP8266) is used to transfer the measured parameters to the consumer. The developed BMS is validated using MATLAB/Simulink, which includes fuzzy logic control.
