Requirements of auxiliary services become essential for smart inverter in grid-connected solar PV applications. Regulation of grid codes is done for inverters’ behaviour regarding various aspects of system stability and safety. In the presented work, the positive feedback-based control strategy is utilized for islanding detection of three-level cascade H bridge inverter connected to the utility grid and nonlinear loads. With this method, inverters can successfully differentiate between LVRT and islanding. With the inclusion of low-voltage ride-through capability in the proposed system not only improves stability but also avoids the chances of unintentional islanding. A model for a three-phase three level inverter is made in MATLAB-Simulink which combines the presented method and is ably tested for three different control technique
