The paper analyses the effect of the yaw angle and free-stream velocity on the stationary and unsteady characteristics of a propeller with a fixed geometry. Propeller characteristics are calculated in two ways: the first uses the 3D RANS modelling, the second involves the simplified analytical model. Comparison of the two calculation methods showed a qualitative coincidence of the data. The effect of the yaw angle on the propeller characteristics is investigated for a wide range of parameters. It is found that the dynamic loads generated by the propeller are significant and should be taken into account when designing quadcopter propellers.
