The Electromagnetic Energy Selective Surface (ESS) can be an effective protection for high-power microwave. An X-band electromagnetic shielding material based on band-pass energy selection surface is designed. The theory of band-pass frequency selective surface is investigated. The transmission characteristic of band-pass ESS is verified through the modeling and simulation. The results of CST show that the working frequency bandwidth is approximately 300MHz. The insertion loss is less than 3 dB when it is in the wave-transparent state, and the shielding efficiency is more than 30 dB when it is in the shielding state. It can be used for high-power microwave protection of the X-band antennas and radar systems.
