In view of the limited peak shaving reserve capacity of thermal power units during the winter heating period in the Three North Areas of China, the serious imbalance between power generation and consumption leads to the problem of wind curtailment. This paper proposes an optimized control method for wind power consumption based on thermal storage boilers. In order to solve the problem of on-site wind power consumption, the government in the northern region of China is promoting the application of thermal storage boilers heating to increase the power-to-heat load of the power grid. In this paper, we study the optimal strategy of thermal storage boilers in the indirect power supply mode of wind farms. With the goal of minimizing the total coal cost and wind curtailment risk, the complex problem with continuous and discrete variables is transformed into a mixed integer linear optimization problem. The analysis of the calculation example shows that the configuration of the thermal storage boilers can decouple the constraint of ordering power by heat, making the interaction between electricity and heat more effective.
