The paper aims to give a comprehensive mathematical analysis of a photovoltaic array. The model representation was implemented using MATLAB/Simulink software. To track the maximum power point, an improved perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm method based was implemented. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed method, a comparative study between the conventional P&O and the proposed algorithms was discussed. The encouraging results indicate the opportunities for the utilization of the strategy covered by this work.
