Dual photoredox and enamine catalysis becomes one of the most promising tools for α- or β-functionalization of aldehydes, which proceeds with enamine radical ion species generated by single electron transfer between an excited photocatalyst and enamine derivatives formed in situ.1 We have previously proven that flavin molecules such as riboflavin tetraacetate can be used as a photocatalyst instead of transition metal complexes2 for α-oxyamination of aldehydes with TEMPO under blue LED irradiation in the presence of a secondary amine co-catalyst.3
