摘要

This paper proposes a decentralized fast-response voltage/VAR control (VVC) using inverters in a distribution grid with a high penetration of photovoltaic (PV) generation. The reactive power compensation/absorption of PV inverters are controlled and coordinated by the proposed VVC strategy with an adaptive time delay to maintain the system voltage within a desired range. The convergence and stability of the proposed decentralized control is ensured by a self-adjusting time delay. Mathematical proof and comprehensive simulations based on PSCAD are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed control method. Compared to traditional inverter-based VVC, the proposed decentralized VVC with time delay can cope with the voltage rise/drop issues in a faster and more accurate way for a distribution system with a high penetration level of PVs.
