SST AS A POTENTIAL INDICATOR OF CéVENOL EVENTS

Even if the causes of Cévenol events (affecting regularly Southern France) seem to be well understood by meteorologists, models might be improved by integrating EO data, to increase the accuracy of forecasts. To the purpose, SST may represent a potential useful input: we checked in fact Medspiration L4 SST data over the Mediterranean at the dates of several Cévenol events and noticed that such events seem to be associated with well clustered temperature hotspots over the sea.
