“Rental customization” means to incorporate the dwellers' needs in rental housing design. Compared to ownership housing customization, it has shorter durability potential, and demands some degree of reversibility to suit the needs of prospective tenants. Moreover, one of most controversial aspects of rental customization is the association between who pays for the product and who benefits from it. Depending on the type of contract, the feasibility of this venture may involve conflicts of interest of different parties who need to profit from it in different ways.
