The right to defence is not only one pylon of the fair trial, not only constitutes in its multifaceted aspects an assistance offered to the citizens to even out their way to justice, but also puts into relief and makes consistent that partnership which every judge cannot dispense with in order to deliver not only a mere enforcement of the statute, but much more - an act of justice and equity.
