摘要

This paper work suggests a Discontinuous Pulse Width Modulation (DPWM) technique to eliminate the Common Mode Voltage (CMV) for a dual two-level inverter fed Open End Winding Induction Motor (OEWIM) feeding from a single PV source. The ill effects of CMV such as sparking at bearing due to the shaft voltage and electromagnetic interference at higher switching frequency are dealt with. Hence the system becomes more reliable. This technique provides lower switching losses compared to continuous PWM methods. The proposed stand-alone system is used to drive a centrifugal pump. The overall performance of the proposed configuration have been verified using MATLAB/Simulink. And from the result it is found that centrifugal pump is a well suited drive for such a stand-alone system.
