A detailed analysis of human motion usually requires an optical tracking system. The system is most often stationary and requires spacious facilities and professional staff to operate. In addition, lengthy calibration processes are often required, thus limiting system access and increasing operational costs. In this paper, a different approach based on the new advances in the Internal Measurements Units (IMU) is presented. This technology allows wireless acquisition of motion trajectory data using a set of wearable high accuracy IMU-based motion sensors.
