Contrastive analysis on annual energy consumption characteristics between modern and traditional residential buildings of two cities in Indonesia

Energy consumption characteristics of modern residential buildings and traditional residential buildings in Java are analyzed in this paper and the influence factors of residential energy consumption are found out in figure 5 and 6. The conclusions are drawn as follows:(1) The construction time of the buildings in Semarang is much older than that in Jakarta and the household rates of space cooling is much lower, (2)The average annual energy consumption cost is Rp1.918.000 for Jakarta and Rp 714.000 for Semarang, (3) The influence factors of total energy consumption includes of floor area ， house materials ， the number of family members, operation air conditioners in dry season，and type of housing appliances.
