Statoil's floating wind turbine "Hywind Demo" has been in operation for more than one year. The concept comprises a 2.3 MW Siemens turbine mounted at a deep draft floating buoy. The turbine is located 10 km off the island of Karm?y at the western coast of Norway at a water depth of approximately 220 metres. This paper addresses comparison between measured and simulated response parameters which are of major importance for design considerations. Such parameters are e.g. dynamic motion, dynamic stress levels, mooring tension, rotor bending moments etc. A few time intervals with stable short term environmental conditions from the first winter season are selected for thorough analysis. Simulations are carried out with a coupled version of the computer codes Simo, Riflex and Hawc2. The results so far show that simulations of measured response compare quite well with measurements for all well defined load conditions considered.
