摘要

Multi-ion interaction in novel rare-earth doped materials has recently attracted much attention owing to the fact that the effect can be beneficial in the construction of photonic devices. The multi-ion interaction warrants conditions for the so called sensitization process where the species excited by a pump photon transfer its excitation to the other species present in the material [1].
