In 2017, Mitsubishi-Hitachi Power Systems (MHPS) with partners (Toyo Engineering Corporation (Toyo), Chubu Electric Power (now JERA Co., Inc.) and JAXA (the MHPS project team, hereafter)) have started a project to conduct a pilot-scaled plant testing for a Fischer-Tropsch Synthetic Paraffinic Kerosene (FT-SPK) fuel production derived from lignocellulosic biomass supported by NEDO. This article presents the status of developmental study on an integrated process for the production of aviation fuel by the MHPS project team.
