Aiming at moving target velocity estimation in video SAR system, we proposed a moving target velocity estimation method based on shadow detection in this paper. Firstly, the SAR image difference between adjacent frames was calculated after registration, and the shadow was detected in the differential image. Secondly, the shadow was localized by the block accumulation method. Finally, the method of shadow region pixel accumulation was used to estimate target range velocity and azimuth velocity. This method avoided target detection and parameter estimation directly, and reduced the detection complexity. The simulation results verified the effectiveness of the method.
