In this paper, we present a frequency reconfigurable microstrip array antenna with four PIN diodes. The 1x4 microstrip array antenna is designed by combining the microstrip patch antennas that connected by quarter-to-four power-division feed network. Four PIN diodes are integrated in each element of the microstrip array antenna. By controlling the on and off of the four diodes at the same time, the microstrip array antenna can exhibit radiation characteristics with reconfigurable frequencies. When diodes are turn off, the operating frequency band of the antenna is 12.1-12.SGHz with the maximum radiation gain of 11.8dB. When the diode is turn on, the operating frequency band of the antenna is 13.1-13.8GHz, the maximum radiation gain is 11.6dB. The frequency reconfigurable microstrip array antenna we designed has good frequency control performance at dual-band frequency, that it is guiding significance for the reconfigurable design of the array antenna. And there is a wide range of application prospects.
