We propose a bandwidth-limited imaging system based on a digital micromirror device (DMD) for three-dimensional(3D) structured light profilometry. By using an error diffusion algorithm with optical low-pass filtering, we obtainhigh-quality sinusoidal fringe patterns without mirror dithering. An N-step phase-shifting algorithm is then used torecover depth information from objects. Using our bandwidth-limited projector, we demonstrate 3D profilometry of astatic object.
