Future proof - TV Globo Recife has implanted the first broadcaster TV of Latin America with an IP System in its infrastructure

TV Globo, one of the largest TV networks in the world, deployed the first TV station with an audio and video infrastructure over IP in the city of Recife, Brazil. It is the first case in Latin America, and one of the only ones in the world, to work with audio and video over IP for Production, using TR-04 (Technical Recommendation) and AES-67 (Audio Engineering Society), and SMPTE 2022-7 (Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers) for exhibition systems. The system is already fully prepared to use SMPTE 2110, only waiting for final approvals. The convergence of the IT world and the broadcast market has been showing strength and the Recife IP System confirms the effectiveness of this integration. This new infrastructure has already been assembled in fiber optics and uses a spine-leaf topology in the network, with COTS switches with 10Gb / 25Gb ports in the Leafs and 100Gb in the Spines. This topology allowed to reduce the volume of cables in 80%, leaving the installation cleaner, because in each optical cord it is possible to traffic up to 8 signals. The system is agnostic to the standard or format, which allows to work in HD, 4K or 8K, making the Recife station future proof.
