摘要

This paper will discuss the modeling of three-phase four wire active power filter (APF) for Quaid-e-Awam University College of Engineering Sciences and Technology (QUCEST) Campus at Larkana, Pakistan. The control strategy of the APF is based on the Unit Vector Template (UVT) method and Instantaneous Reactive Power (IRP) theory. The function of UVT method is for obtaining the voltage signals for the control system when source voltages are distorted. The phase locked loop (PLL) is used to make sure that the detected source voltage is at the correct phase angle. This voltage signal will be used to determine the reference current for the APF. MATLAB Simulink software is used to design and simulate the case. The simulation result of APF will prove that the designed control system able to reduce the system harmonic and unbalanced load problems that caused by nonlinear loads and transient condition.
