Data quality-based process enabling: Application to logistics supply processes in low-volume ramp-up context

Manufacturing companies operating within high-variant low-volume context face ambitious challenges due to rapidly changing market environments and growing pressure resulting from international competition in increasingly globalized markets. At the same time, rising product variety and complexity due to shifting individual customer needs and shortening product lifecycles require efficient and reliable material supply. Efficient logistics processes demand high-quality information, but must be designed according to available data input at the same time. The role of high-quality corporate data will further gain in importance with the progressive introduction of Industry 4.0. Therefore, a methodological framework has been developed to enable long-term data quality improvements and optimized process design based on the available data quality.
