At the 2017 ICES conference in Charleston, SC, we presented space radiation effects data on electronics under certain shielding configurations on spacecraft residing in a geostationary orbit (6.6 RE) using the old AE-8 trapped electron model 1 . In this paper we re- examine the geostationary space radiation environment, which consists of high-energy (8-10 MeV) electrons and low-fluence, low-energy protons using the recently released AE/AP-9 models and compare the earlier results that used the AE-8 trapped electron model. In addition, we also include the galactic cosmic radiation (GCR) and possible solar proton event (SPE) effects. The results of a parametric study of the trapped, GCR, and SPE radiation environments on electronics for a number of shielding configurations using a variety of shielding materials are discussed in detail.
