Coordination of overcurrent relays in radial distribution systems: An analytical approach

This paper proposes an analytical method to calculate the overcurrent relay settings optimally. The method aims for optimum values of time dial and curve type by reducing search space. It was applied to both 4-bus and 15-bus systems implemented in CAPE and MATLAB^{?respectively. The protection settings were tested, and the results showed that the method is effective and works well when performing overcurrent relay coordination.}
