In this article, authors investigate the flow and heat transfer of 2-D magnetohydrodynamic Sisko fluid past a time-dependent stretching surface. Effects of the heat source/sink and viscous dissipation are considered in the energy equation. The governing time-dependent PDEs are converted into a nonlinear ODE by a similarity transformation. The resulting non-linear ODE is solved numerically using the bvp-4c package in MATLAB software. Effects of several dominating parameters are considered on velocity profile and temperature profile which are presented graphically and examined in detail. Effects of the unsteadiness, heat source/sink parameters and Eckert number are thoroughly examined. Under the influence of pertinent parameters, Nusselt number and skin friction coefficient are evaluated.
