Carbon dioxide is one of the most promising, environmentally friendly and energy efficient refrigerant.Nowadays, many centralized CO_2 systems are already installed in supermarketsas a replacement of HFCrefrigerants with higher GWP in order to reduce environmental impact and energy consumption.Nevertheless,integral display cabinets using CO_2 are still rare, and the performance of the technology in this case is notwell known. In this context, a test bench has been developed to evaluate the performance of an integraldisplay cabinet using CO_2 as a refrigerant. Depending on the ambient temperature, the refrigerating systemis operating in subcritical, near critical or transcritical mode. Measurements have been performed withdifferent ambient conditions to characterize the display cabinet performance.
