Microgrid is a system, consisting of distributed energy resources (DERs), distributed generation (DG) and controllable loads. Energy management in microgrid is done by classical method and particle swarm optimization method. Particle swarm optimization method has faster and better results than classical method. Also if one of the source such as wind has zero generation then, the total cost and total losses have been observed. Hence, it can be concluded that distribution of power demand among all the sources requires less cost and it has lesser losses compared to when one of the source is kept at zero generation.
