The Radio frequency coil is the key component used in the detection of nuclear magnetic resonance signal for Magnetic Resonance Imaging. Birdcage volume coils have the capability to produce a homogeneous magnetic field inside the desired Field of View. This paper describes the method of implementing a high pass birdcage coil resonating at 64 MHz for Tesla. This coil can be used as transmit-receive coil for knee imaging. The coil performance has been verified via iterative simulations and practical parameter measurements. The coil was tested for loaded and unloaded conditions using knee phantom.
