A comprehensive analysis of MAC protocols for MANET

摘要

Mobile Ad-hoc network (MANET) is a wireless, infrastructure less network in which mobile nodes work on Ah-hoc basis, Manet enables communication between mobile nodes without centralized control, that means there is no fixed base station. Medium access control protocol (MAC) provides addressing and channel access mechanism for the network nodes to access wireless channel for communication. A trustworthy and competent MAC protocol is needed to avoid transmission collision in Manet. MAC protocol is designed to eliminate hidden and exposed node problems.
