A Nonlinear Analytical Modeling of Permanent Magnet Induction Generator Used in Wind Turbines

This paper proposes the analytical modeling of Permanent Magnet Induction Generator (PMIG). This type of asynchronous generators is widely used in the renewable energy resources as wind farms, micro-hydro plants due to its high performance compared to other types of machines. For that reason, a numerical analysis will be made that takes into account the main effective parameters for the machine. This model is based on Maxwell tensor approach, and the effect of slot numbers. That is depending on the homothety of Schwarz - Christoffel between two planes. In addition, this model will be based on Poissonian equations that will be used to determine the algebraic flux densities components in the air gap, permanent magnet, rotor and stator yokes. This paper highlights also the impact of concentrated armature coils on several PMIG characteristics.
