The Kharyaga oilfield – large in terms of initial oil in-place,and very complex in terms of geological characteristics – is located in Nenets Autonomous District.The main development target is represented by carbonate deposits of a complex structure and is highly heterogeneous.High content of paraffin in crude,aggressive components in associated petroleum gas(H2S),thick layer of permafrost formations and harsh climate result in significant technical challenges for the Kharyaga field development.The Kharyaga field development exhibits uneven recovery of the reserves in interlayers and water breakthrough in highly permeable areas of the reservoir.Various technologies for well performance monitoring can be applied.The report describes the deliverables from pilot introduction of new well performance monitoring technology,which turned out to be successful when traditional production logging techniques could not be used for different reasons.The pilot directional well with the cemented casing string was being monitored using a technology for inflow profiling based on smart chemical markers set on completion components.Polymer matrices with the markers were placed with the use of shells outside the casing string within the pay zone.After the casing was cemented and perforated,through polymer matrices within the pay zones large volume 15% hydrochloric acid treatment was performed with the use of inhibitors and diverters.The smart inflow indicators are used for well performance monitoring throughout a significant life time of a well and enable to pursue the following objectives: to distribute the inflow by intervals,identify the water break-through intervals,assess the well intervention efficiency [1].For the first time in Russia studies of a directional well were conducted using the markers installed on the production casing with subsequent cementing,perforation and acid treatment of the bottomhole area.
