摘要

Infrared & Laser optical assembly in Optical Detection & Ranging System of Fighter Aircraft needs precise tuning & alignment of optics, to get accurate target co-ordinates. In this paper author had studied the effect of temperature gradient on refractive index of optics, which causes self-focusing & de-focusing phenomenon in IR & Laser assembly and resulting focus error. Paper has been concluded by briefing of variation in refractive index due to thermal lensing affect of Nd-Yag Laser Rod.
