In order to avoid the mutual interference between UWB system and narrowband communication system, the ultra wide band antenna with notch characteristic on diamond-shaped patch antenna is improved. The coplanar wave guide (CPW) feed structure and a larger groove rectangle etching on the ground and rhombus radiating elements structure are designed to achieve ultra-wide band characteristics. An L-shaped minor radiation patch is added in the antenna ground plate to realize WiMAX and WLAN dual-band notch. An E-shaped groove on the rhombus radiating elements is etched to achieve the ITU 8G single notch. The simulation and experimental results show, the VSWR is less than 2 in 3-12GHz operating frequency band, and this structure antenna has a good notch characteristic in the frequency of 3.2-3.7GHz, 5.1-5.8GHz and 8.2-8.7GHz. In addition to the operating band of ultra-wide band range apart from three resistance bands, the antenna has good radiation characteristics and stability gain.
