摘要

Inpainting is a research area in Image Processing. Image Inpainting has been widely investigated to reconstruct damaged part of an image. One of the effective approaches is by using Kriging Interpolation Algorithm. This method can be used to predict the value of a damaged pixel from their undamaged neighboring pixels. The utilization of Kriging filter proves that it is very impressive in reconstructing the image. The Kriging interpolation algorithm is implemented in Matlab and the results are found to be satisfactory. It has been found that Kriging Interpolation filter achieves good results without loss of edges and detailed information. Comparisons with available algorithms are done using quality metrics like PSNR and SSIM.
