In this paper a compact patch antenna has been modelled using copper and graphite as its conducting media and its various parameters such as reflection coefficient, directivity, gain and radiation efficiency has been calculated and compared. Antennas with its 2.5 mm × 2.5 mm size dimension has been modelled over a polyimide (Kapton) based substrate. The copper and graphite conducting patch shows the antenna operating at 55.16 GHz and 63.42 GHz however the antenna can be used for its wideband over 50-60 GHz. Assuming a human arm with some curvature, the patch has been bent with a radius of 3 mm to show the antenna behavior and its frequency shift. The resonating frequency of the bent antenna for copper and graphite conductive media has been found to be 52.87 and 51.792 GHz but these antennas being a wideband, the antenna characteristics has been compared for 55.16 GHz. The proposed antenna is perfectly suited for its integration into flexible and wearable electronics design.
